1978: Two Guys, A Truck, and a Reputation Built Door-to-Door
RickJohn Roofing was founded in 1978 by Rick Gammiere and his longtime partner Bob Wallo — two Pittsburgh natives who started in construction, working door-to-door before focusing on roofing full time. From day one, the plan was simple: hard work, real attention to detail, and customer service good enough that people would send their neighbors to us. It worked — for 50 years now, most of our business has come from referrals and repeat customers.
After 42 years side by side, Bob retired in 2020. Today Rick's son, Richard, runs the day-to-day alongside him. "I take great pride in the fact that my son loves the business as much as I do," Rick says — and that shows in every roof this crew touches.
